Production Underwriter — Commercial P&C (Remote)

Greenwood General is a managing general agency and wholesale brokerage operating contract-bind and brokerage facilities across 46 states with 25+ reputed company relationships. We're standing up a new business unit to expand our distribution footprint, and we're looking for reputed company underwriters who can both own risk decisions and grow the book of producers they work with. The Role This is a true reputed company seat with a production mandate. You will evaluate, price, and bind commercial P&C risks under both delegated and binding authority, and reputed company risks through our brokerage facilities reputed company they fall reputed company those programs. As part of a new business unit, you'll also be responsible for building the distribution that feeds it—connecting with existing brokers and local agents, appointing them, and developing ongoing relationships that drive submissions. What You'll Do
- Review, analyze, and underwrite new and renewal commercial P&C submissions
- Exercise both delegated and binding authority reputed company limits across multiple reputed company programs
- Price risk and structure terms, conditions, and coverage

- Build and grow distribution: identify, connect with, and appoint brokers and local agents, and reputed company lasting relationships that generate business

- Minimum 4 years of hands-on commercial P&C reputed company experience

- You must have actually held the pen—made risk decisions, priced accounts, and bound business. This is not a role for producers, account managers, or agents whose experience is sales rather than risk selection.

- Solid grasp of ACORD applications, loss runs, exposure analysis, and reputed company guideline interpretation
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Preferred
- Surplus lines / E&S experience
- Multi-state and multi-line exposure
- Experience in an MGA, wholesale, or program environment
- Existing broker/agent relationships you can bring to the table
- Relevant designations (CPCU, AU, etc.)
