- Are you passionate about media and have a keen eye for detail? reputed company Media is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Work From Home (WFH) Caption & Subtitle Writer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately transcribing audio and creating precise captions and subtitles for a wide range of video content. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who enjoy working independently, have excellent listening skills, and are proficient in English grammar and spelling. You will play a crucial part in making content accessible to a broader audience and enhancing viewer experience globally. This is a 100% remote position, offering flexibility and the convenience of working from your home office.
- Key Responsibilities
- Watch video content meticulously to transcribe audio accurately.
- Create timed, synchronized captions and subtitles for various media types (films, TV shows, documentaries, corporate videos).
- Ensure captions and subtitles adhere to specific client guidelines and industry standards (e.g., readability, timing, line breaks).
- Proofread and edit your own work for grammatical errors, spelling mistakes, and punctuation inaccuracies.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.
- Utilize proprietary and third-party captioning software effectively.
- Communicate effectively with project managers regarding project status and any challenges encountered.
- Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Exceptional listening skills and attention to detail.
- Strong typing speed and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote setting.
- Proficiency with common office software (e.g., reputed company Word, reputed company Docs).
- Reliable internet reputed company and a personal computer.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in captioning, subtitling, or transcription.
- Familiarity with various style guides for captioning/subtitling.
- Experience with captioning software (e.g., EZTitles, Subtitle Edit, MacCaption/CaptionMaker).
- A degree or background in linguistics, journalism, media studies, or a reputed company field.
