[Remote] Staff Software Engineer

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Storm2 is a well-funded Series A fintech startup seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build a reputed company B2B payments platform. The role involves designing and building backend systems for a crypto-native payments platform, ensuring reliability and scalability, and collaborating closely with product, design, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend systems powering their crypto-native payments platform
• Operate backend systems at scale, spanning fiat and on-chain payment flows
• Deliver scalable APIs powering money movement and financial transactions across both traditional rails and blockchain networks
• Ensure idempotency, reliability and developer-friendly integrations
• Build secure and reliable systems, able to process a high volume of transactions
• Architect solutions for reputed company challenges across payments, stablecoin flows, on-chain settlement, wallet infrastructure, ledgering and reconciliation
• Integrate with blockchain infrastructure: smart reputed company, custodial and non-custodial wallets, stablecoins and cross-chain bridges
• Be AI-native and drive features end-to-end using AI coding agents and workflows (tools like Claude Code, reputed company and reputed company), being in charge of planning, testing, reviewing, and implementation, reputed company while knowing reputed company to override and owning the quality of what ships
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and infra teams to align system design with business priorities
• Review code (yours, your peers', and your agents'), mentor peers, and reputed company the engineering bar across the team
• Investigate and resolve production issues with a focus on root cause prevention

Skills

• 5+ years of backend software engineering experience
• Experience building backend systems and services in Node.js and Typescript
• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
• Previous experience and success building APIs that power financial or transactional systems
• Hands-on experience with blockchain development: integrating with smart reputed company, working with wallets and key management, handling on-chain transactions, or building stablecoin/tokenization flows
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI coding agents
• Experience designing scalable, reliable and fault-tolerant systems
• Familiarity with distributed systems concepts (idempotency, concurrency, data reputed company)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• Deeper blockchain experience: writing and auditing smart reputed company (Solidity), DeFi protocol integrations, multi-chain architectures, MPC or threshold signature wallets
• Experience building or operating high-throughput stablecoin or on/off-reputed company infrastructure
• Exposure to event-driven architectures and real-time transaction systems
• Track record of customizing AI dev workflows
