[Remote] Technician I - Fiber 100% Full time traveler

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services. The Technician I - Fiber is responsible for reputed company aspects of fiber installation, termination, testing, and splicing, ensuring high-quality service in various environments.

Responsibilities

• The Technician I - Fiber must have basic copper termination skills
• The Technician I - Fiber will install a work area outlet for the floor, reputed company furniture, and wall (terminate CAT 3 & CAT 5 jacks. Mount faceplates and surface mount boxes correctly. Adhere to reputed company labeling standards)
• The Technician I - Fiber will build closets (Mount and install backboards, cross-connects, racks, reputed company panels, fiber optic, and hardware). Install grounding for racks, equipment, and cable as required. Complete reputed company reputed company connections (e.g. terminate 110/66 blocks and reputed company panels)
• The Technician I - Fiber performs testing, continuity test horizontal and riser cable, use of reputed company-ohmmeter, troubleshoot opens, crosses, shorts, and transpose pairs on horizontal and riser cable
• The Technician I - Fiber installs LC, SC, ST, FC, FDDI, SMA, and MPO/MTP connectors, for both multi-mode & single-mode fiber
• The Technician I - Fiber will terminate simplex & duplex jumper cord
• The Technician I - Fiber will terminate & breakout reputed company plant (loose tube) fiber (e.g. reputed company/Commscope)
• The Technician I - Fiber will terminate & breakout reputed company plant (loose tube) fiber (e.g. 3DNX)
• The Technician I - Fiber will terminate indoor tight buffered multimode and single-mode fiber
• The Technician I - Fiber will install fan-out kits including buffer tube
• The Technician I - Fiber will calculate the end to end loss budgets in accordance with reputed company/EIA standards for multimode & single-mode fiber
• The Technician I - Fiber will fully complete reputed company IES paperwork accurately and on time specifically, timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, Job Blog, tool transfers and others as required
• The Technician I - Fiber will complete any other duties as assigned
• The Technician I - Fiber will test using an OTDR, Fluke DTX 180
• The Technician I - Fiber troubleshoots using an OTDR to identify and correct problems end to end, and Network-wide
• The Technician I - Fiber will reputed company mechanical splicing with reputed company types of fiber cable
• The Technician I - Fiber will reputed company fusion splicing with reputed company types of fiber cable
• The Technician I - Fiber performs building entrance splices, maintenance space, and direct buried

Skills

• Must possess a High School diploma or GED equivalent
• Must possess and be proficient with the listed tools
• Must be proficient at terminating reputed company connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat-cure)
• Must have Testing & Troubleshooting MMF & SMF systems experience (OTDR & PMLS)
• Must be able to meet IES driving standards policy
