[Remote] Reinsurance Senior CAT Risk Analyst (Primarily Home)

The role involves executing reinsurance catastrophe modeling analyses, developing analytical tools, and collaborating with team members to provide insights and recommendations reputed company to natural disasters.
Responsibilities
- Performs assumed reinsurance catastrophe modeling analyses using catastrophe modeling software for the assessment of data input, model set-up, model execution, result extraction and loss analytics
- Communicates key model fundamentals including but not limited to Hazard, Vulnerability and Financial model components to peers and other functions
- Develops analytical tools, reports, and data to understand the impacts of natural disasters to the division's business, including applying a variety of geospatial analysis techniques to analysis projects
- Explore natural hazard data to incorporate into pricing, portfolio optimization, and accumulation management
- Evaluates reinsurance catastrophe management software and models and explores industry best practices and business strategies
- Partners with fellow assumed reinsurance catastrophe risk management team members to provide catastrophe reputed company insights and recommendation
- Participates in the selection of research tools and technologies, design of a common research process, and brainstorming new opportunities and methodologies
- Proactively brings in new and innovative reputed company and approaches to reputed company business. May be requested to complete other assignments or participate in projects based upon skills, achievements, or experience
- Supports live catastrophe event response with exposure summaries and loss estimates
Skills
- Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support, or service
- Solid experience with catastrophe management software and catastrophe peril models
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of natural catastrophe risk and its application to the reinsurance space and catastrophe modeling
- Proficiency in programming languages suitable for database access, scripting, and statistical analysis
- Solid understanding of geospatial software tools and data
- Ability to work as part of a team and to communicate effectively
- Demonstrated experience using large amounts of structured, semi-structured, and reputed company data
- Demonstrated experience making independent decisions and in project management methodologies, practices, techniques
- Solid knowledge with managing data to scale using data summarization, query and analysis software and tools
