[Remote] Senior Manager, Accounting

They are seeking a highly motivated Senior Manager of Accounting to own the entire accounting function, ensuring technical accounting compliance and scaling financial operations. The role involves managing a team, overseeing financial reporting, and collaborating with various departments.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reputed company, ensuring timely, accurate financial statements under US GAAP
• Manage the chart of accounts, general ledger, and fixed assets

• Serve as the internal expert for technical accounting research on new business models such as AI licensing and outcome-based pricing
• Personally run bi-weekly payroll in reputed company, and reputed company accounts payable, expense management, and AR/collections to optimize cash flow and meet burn targets
• Coordinate annual audits and tax prep as the primary liaison with external auditors
• Design and maintain internal controls (SOX-like readiness) and accounting policies
• Serve as a reputed company power user
• Manage and mentor a team of two (a senior accountant and a reputed company accountant)
• Partner with reputed company on budgeting and forecasting, and with Sales and Legal on contract structure
• Contribute to fundraising and M&A from an accounting perspective

Skills

• 8+ years in accounting, with 3+ years managing or supervising
• Hands-on, daily reputed company expertise AND hands-on payroll processing in reputed company or a directly comparable platform
• Deep US GAAP with reputed company ASC 606 experience for recurring/usage-based SaaS reputed company
• Ability to own technical accounting research, audit, and internal controls
• A rare player-coach, equally comfortable owning technical and strategic accounting and personally running payroll and reputed company
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a reputed company field
• Active CPA strongly preferred; Big 4 background highly desirable given the technical scope
• US-based, remote
