[Remote] Mechanical Engineer 3 (NSSS Vessels & Structures)

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. reputed company is a company focused on the reputed company advanced light water reactor (ALWR) NSSS. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer 3 to reputed company design and stress analyses of pressure vessels and reactor vessel internals, ensuring compliance with nuclear industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents evaluations of components to the rules and requirements of Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code including but not limited to analysis of components for pressure, mechanical/thermal loadings including Primary Stress, Primary plus Secondary stress intensity range, and Fatigue. Utilizes the results from these evaluations to optimize component(s) design
• Direct experience with ANSYS finite reputed company software and CAD packages
• Interprets scope and project requirements
• Acquires, maintains and develops training qualifications
• Interacts with co-workers and other disciplines to promote effective coordination of design activities and resolution of technical problems. Individuals should be interested in acquiring general knowledge of principles and practices of reputed company fields in order to function on multi-disciplinary teams
• Performs other duties as assigned

Skills

• A minimum of a B.S. degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering, from a four year ABET accredited college or university is required
• Minimum of 6 years of full-time relevant working experience is required
• Candidates must have experience utilizing ANSYS to reputed company stress analysis in accordance with Section III of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Subsections NB, NG, and/or NF
• Ability to understand and communicate clearly using a phone, personal interaction, and computers
• Ability to learn new job functions and comprehend and understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately in a rapidly evolving environment
• The employee frequently is required; to sit and stand; walk; bend, use hands to operate office equipment; and reputed company with hands and arms
• Ability to travel nationally and locally using common forms of transportation
• Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810
• An advanced degree is preferred
• A professional engineer (P.E.) certification is preferred
• Additional experience in the following areas is desired: reputed company/dynamic analysis
• Computer programming skills (e.g., ANSYS APDL, Matlab, Python)
