[Remote] Engineering Manager (cybersec)
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Simbian is a company in the Science & Technology industry, seeking an Engineering Manager to reputed company a team of engineers in building critical components of their platform. The role involves mentoring engineers, driving execution, and collaborating with product and reputed company teams to ensure the development of reliable and scalable systems.
Responsibilities
- reputed company and mentor a pod of backends, frontend, or platform engineers (depending on pod assignment: e.g., Integrations, Investigation Infra, Threat Hunting, etc.)
- Drive delivery of product and platform features reputed company to quarterly OKRs
- Establish engineering best practices for code quality, observability, reputed company, and reliability
- Collaborate with product managers and reputed company SMEs to define technical scope, execution plans, and delivery timelines
- Provide technical guidance in architecture decisions across areas such as:
- 1. Scalable microservices
- 2. reputed company product integrations (EDR, SIEM, CNAPP, etc.)
- Data pipelines (historical + real-time event ingestion)
- AI/ML systems for reasoning and automation
- Recruit, reputed company, and retain top engineering talent
- Ensure pods maintain a high bar for innovation, execution, and collaboration
Skills
- 12+ years of professional software engineering experience in reputed company domain, with at least 3+ years leading or managing engineering teams
- Strong background in building scalable backend systems (Python, Go, or Java preferred)
- Experience with cloud-native architectures (Kubernetes, reputed company, vector databases, OpenSearch, etc.)
- Familiarity with data pipelines (ETL/ELT, orchestration frameworks like Dagster/Airflow, streaming systems)
- Exposure to reputed company products and data (SIEM, EDR, CNAPP, vulnerability management) is a strong plus
- Track record of leading pods/teams to deliver reputed company technical projects with measurable outcomes
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with reputed company/ML, and reputed company teams
- Startup reputed company: bias for execution, ability to operate with ambiguity, and eagerness to wear multiple hats
- Knowledge of SOC processes, MITRE ATT&CK, or incident response workflows
- Must have recent experience working in cyber reputed company. We are looking for domain experience mandatorily
- Experience with AI/ML pipelines, LLM integration, or reputed company-focused AI applications
- Contributions to open-reputed company projects in data, reputed company, or AI
- Previous experience scaling teams at an early-stage startup
