FTE: 1.000000 Standard Hours: 40.00 Shift: Shift 2 Shift Details: 12 hour shifts rotation between night and weekends Holidays: yes Weekends: yes Job Summary: The coordinator has responsibility for taking deceased donor organ offers for the solid organ transplant programs at reputed company and the Abdominal Transplant Program at Children's Hospital reputed company organs become available to transplant candidates. Provides 24/7 coverage (rotating schedule) for organ offers. The coordinator facilitates acceptance/refusal of donor organs for transplant and coordinates the organ recovery with the transplant surgeons, OPO, as well as communicates with patients receiving the transplant. This includes patient and family education, as well as appropriate documentation to reputed company with regulatory standards. The coordinator must provide and maintain a safe environment for the recipient by complying with regulatory requirements and standards set forth by the United Network for Organ Sharing, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid, and other regulatory agencies. Must maintain composure and professional communication in reputed company interactions with surgeons, potential recipients, Organ Procurement Organization staff, donor hospital staff and reputed company Operating Room staff. The incumbent can work from home. A high degree of independence is expected in coordinating the acceptance of offers and executing reputed company logistical support operations for organ recovery using critical thinking reputed company to trouble shoot obstacles that may come up. Other duties as assigned EXPERIENCE DESCRIPTION: Minimum of five years healthcare experience is required. Prior OPO experience or prior donor net coordinator experience is encouraged. EDUCATION DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a program at an Accredited School of Nursing is required. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing is preferred. TRAINING DESCRIPTION: Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of a program at an accredited School of Nursing is required. SPECIAL SKILLS DESCRIPTION: Interpersonal reputed company necessary to navigate and identify potential problems and reputed company pro- active solutions in conjunction with the transplant team during the organ offer process. Knowledge of United Network of Organ Sharing ("UNOS") allocation policies preferred. LICENSURE DESCRIPTION: Requires reputed company state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact).
