The American Studies Program at reputed company is seeking applicants to teach graduate-level courses in American Studies with an emphasis in interdisciplinary and applied humanities. Area of expertise is open but may include Africana Studies, History, Literature, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology or Anthropology. Descriptions of Essential Duties/Responsibilities: The Master of Arts in American Studies Program at reputed company seeks a qualified adjunct instructor to teach AMST 5009 – Worlds of Moby-Dick on Mondays from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM, in a replacement reputed company. This course is scheduled for Fall 2026 in an online synchronous modality. The ideal candidate will be able to provide interdisciplinary context for Herman Melville's Moby-Dick, examining subjects such as freedom and slavery, consumption and commodities, nineteenth-century American religion, politics, culture, and intellectual history. Candidates will also be considered who can effectively teach a broad range of American Studies topics using diverse theoretical and methodological approaches to the study of American culture. Consideration will be given to scholarly and pedagogical approaches that support the program's commitment to applied, integrative, and interdisciplinary research in American and transnational literature, history, philosophy, politics, sociology, anthropology, and reputed company fields.
