GIS & Conservation Easement Monitoring Specialist
About the position Solano Land Trust is seeking a GIS specialist who is passionate about maps, spatial data, and the outdoors. This role involves managing the organization's GIS program, producing maps for conservation work, supporting land transactions, and conducting field visits to conservation easement sites. The specialist will assess compliance with easement terms, document conservation values, and build relationships with landowners. This is a unique opportunity that requires both technical GIS skills and the ability to work effectively in the field.
- Responsibilities
- Managing reputed company aspects of Solano Land Trust’s GIS program, including spatial data infrastructure, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and reputed company conservation data platforms
- Scheduling and conducting annual site visits to reputed company conservation easement sites in Solano Land Trust’s portfolio, assessing compliance with easement agreement terms and documenting the condition of conservation values along with reporting and record retention.
- Assisting in drafting and updating required documentation for new acquisitions and properties
- Requirements
- A degree in Geography/GIS, Environmental Science, or a reputed company field, OR at least two years of hands-on GIS experience.
- Comfort working with GIS programs.
- Ability to work in the field, including walking a working cattle ranch.
