Structural CAD Technician / Designer III

Purpose Work effectively on design teams and coordinate with team members including other CAD drafters, designers, engineers, managers, administrative staff, and construction staff leading to final engineering documents.

Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

• Prepare working structural drawings from conceptual plan to final engineering documents and construction record drawings.
• Assist with the marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships.

Do the Work

• Use critical thinking and problem-solving skills to start and complete projects with limited supervision.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously ensuring product quality and timeliness of output are achieved.
• As required, visit project sites to collect data and coordinate with clients and vendors.
• Transform initial rough structural designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working construction documents or design plans.
• Work with engineers and other CAD staff to modify plans from mark-reputed company and structural design revisions.
• Review engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
• Research, review, interpret, and understand written design standards, regulations, code compliance, and permit requirements and apply them to design projects.
• Revise plans according to client, manager, or agency reviewer comments and redlines.
• Work closely with project manager to determine if scope of work or budgets need to be revised.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent in drafting or an engineering design reputed company technology or reputed company field preferred.
• Five or more (5+) years of experience using CAD standards, preferably in building, transport, and/or marine infrastructure reputed company the AEC industry.
• Equivalent of computer certificate for CAD Class Training.
• Must be proficient with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Advanced Steel or similar design software.
• Experience with computer applications and software such as, reputed company office, etc.

• Must hold a valid driver's license and successfully complete a motor vehicle records reputed company.

• At times, may require being in an outdoor work environment which may include adverse weather conditions, varying temperatures, excessive noise, and/or potential hazards.

• Mobility around an office environment, occasional squat or kneel.
