[Remote] Product Design Contractor - Pittsburgh, PA
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Lab37 Robotics is a technology company focused on creating innovative robotic solutions for the food industry. They are seeking a Product Designer Contractor to build a cohesive design system across various internal tools, incorporating user research and AI workflows to enhance product efficiency and user experience.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a design system that unites our internal tools
- Incorporate branded elements into our design system
- Thorough documentation of design systems
- Exploration into future interfaces and UI opportunities
- Incorporating AI workflows using Claude Design and Claude Code
- User research, testing, feedback, and design iteration
Skills
- 5+ years of UI/UX design experience — portfolio that shows full design system implementation
- Experience with various hardware beyond just iOS
- Strong typography and layout fundamentals
- Proficiency in Figma (required) – all systems will be built in Figma and utilized via Claude MCP (or whatever's next)
- Ability to work within an existing brand
- Comfortable in a startup/build environment — you'll be setting up systems, not just using them
- A passion for food and helping restaurateurs succeed!
- Strong full-stack design skills; from interaction design to visual design to system thinking, and everything in between
- A proven track record of building products from the ground up and working effectively with cross-functional partners
- An ability to be a strategic partner by helping to understand the competitive environment and shape a vision for how our products will fit in the market
- A team player who is a proactive communicator, has no ego, and loves to collaborate with others
- Sound judgement that combines data with instinct to build the right thing and meet business objectives
