Junior Piping/Mechanical Designer

The Junior Piping/Mechanical Designer will assist with studies for major projects in the mining, energy, and heavy industry sectors, participating in the design and preparation of plans and specifications under supervision.
Responsibilities
- Participate in preparing plans and specifications based on guidelines
- Under supervision, carry out the 3D design of piping, equipment and mechanical layouts for all components
- Work with point clouds (3D scanning)
- Coordinate equipment layout with other disciplines, such as the Structural Engineering
- Produce isometric drawings of pipelines
- Produce 2D drawings of equipment developed in design and general layouts
- Prepare 2D drawings with full detailing (dimensions, labels, text and notes)
- Participate in technical site surveys
- Ensure the quality of deliverables produced
Skills
- College diploma in mechanical engineering technology
- From 0 to 2 years of experience as a mechanical technician
- Available for short-term work assignments outside the office
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, SolidWorks & NavisWorks
- Valid driver's license
- Knowledge of CADWorx and SmartPlant 3D
- Advanced French skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients in Québec
- Spanish proficiency
- Experience in the mining or oil & gas sectors
