Our client, a leader in precision medicine, is seeking a highly accomplished Principal Computational Biologist to join their fully remote research team. This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation from

, or any approved US location, by applying advanced computational methods to analyze complex biological data and uncover novel therapeutic targets. You will play a key role in designing computational strategies, developing analytical pipelines, and collaborating with a world-class team of biologists, geneticists, and data scientists. Key Responsibilities

Lead the development and application of computational and statistical methods for analyzing large-scale biological datasets (e.g., genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics). Design and implement robust bioinformatics pipelines for data processing, quality control, and analysis. Interpret complex biological data to identify potential drug targets and biomarkers. Collaborate closely with experimental biologists, clinicians, and other stakeholders to define research questions and guide study design. Develop predictive models and algorithms to understand disease mechanisms and patient stratification. Communicate research findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences through presentations and publications. Mentor junior computational biologists and contribute to the team's scientific growth. Stay abreast of the latest advancements in computational biology, bioinformatics, and relevant biological domains. Contribute to strategic planning for computational biology initiatives.

Requirements

Ph.D. in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. Minimum of 8 years of experience in computational biology or bioinformatics, with a significant focus on omics data analysis. Expertise in programming languages such as Python, R, and experience with shell scripting. Extensive experience with standard bioinformatics tools and databases. Proven track record of developing and implementing complex analytical pipelines. Strong understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, and data visualization techniques. Experience with cloud computing environments (e.g., AWS, GCP) and high-performance computing (HPC) is highly desirable. Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills. Demonstrated ability to lead projects and mentor junior team members. Experience in drug discovery or precision medicine is a significant advantage. This role is fully remote, requiring strong self-motivation and organizational skills.
