Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Homeowner Property Claims Examiner to join their New England team. This role requires strong technical expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to independently manage high-exposure and litigated residential property claims while delivering strong outcomes and exceptional service to all stakeholders. Primary responsibilities include handling complex property claims, evaluating coverage, managing recovery opportunities, and contribute to a collaborative claims operation. The ideal candidate will bring property claims experience, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound coverage and settlement decisions while maintaining exceptional customer service. Qualified candidates must reside in Massachusetts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle a pending of 60 - 80 moderate to high-exposure homeowner property losses throughout the New England regioin
  • Evaluate coverage issues, policy interpretation, and complex liability exposures to ensure accurate claim handling and compliance.
  • Conduct detailed investigations to determine coverage, liability, and loss exposure in accordance with applicable policy language and state regulations across the New England region.
  • Evaluate coverage and draft detailed correspondence outlining coverage positions.
  • Establish and maintain accurate financial reserves based on claim developments, expert evaluations, and potential litigation outcomes.
  • Direct and manage litigation strategy in partnership with defense counsel, including review of pleadings, participation in mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation when necessary.
  • Collaborate with policyholders, vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication throughout the claims process.
  • Identify opportunities for subrogation, loss control, and cost-saving measures.
  • Ensure claims are resolved efficiently and within company guidelines.
  • Keep stakeholders updated through detailed status reports and documentation.
  • Uphold superior customer service and always adhere to departmental best practices.

Qualifications

  • 5 - 10+ years' experience handling homeowner property claims.
  • Direct experience as a staff adjuster with an insurance carrier is required.
  • Well versed in Xactimate estimating software.
  • Solid knowledge of property insurance forms and coverages.
  • Massachusetts residency is required.
  • Exceptional organization, communication, and decision-making skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree is a bonus but not a requirement.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary ranging from $90,000 - $110,000, with potential for up to 20% annual bonus.
