Work Environment

This role offers a hybrid work setting, combining face-to-face care with the flexibility to engage in administrative duties from home. You will primarily work in clients' residences, providing personalized care tailored to their unique needs. The role requires reliable transportation for traveling to various locations within Lynchburg and surrounding areas, supporting a diverse clientele.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist clients with daily personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, and bathing to ensure their comfort and dignity.
• Facilitate mobility by safely transferring clients, such as moving from bed to wheelchair, ensuring their safety and ease during transitions.
• Prepare and serve light meals, considering clients' dietary restrictions and preferences while assisting with feeding as needed.
• Administer medication reminders and encourage adherence to prescribed health regimens while monitoring any side effects.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to combat feelings of isolation, enhancing clients' mental well-being through social interaction.
• Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, cleaning, and organization to maintain a safe and inviting living environment.
• Monitor client health or behavioral changes, effectively communicating observations to the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care.

Patient Population / Client Focus Our clients are diverse individuals, including seniors, those with chronic illnesses, and individuals recovering from surgery. Each client presents unique needs, and it is your role to ensure they receive tailored, patient-centered assistance that promotes their independence and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Valid certification as a CNA, NA, or PCA; we offer online training for those interested in pursuing PCA certification.
• Must possess a valid Virginia driver's license, reliable transportation, and a Social Security card.
• Proven ability to demonstrate compassion, patience, and dependability in caregiving roles.

Preferred Experience While certification is required, we value experience in caregiving, whether through professional roles or personal experience. Previous work in home health settings, rehabilitation facilities, or similar environments is a plus. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families are essential.
