About Aptura Aptura works with leading foundational AI labs to bring institutional finance expertise directly into AI model development. The Opportunity You’ve built deep expertise in insurance claims, investigations, coverage decisions, reserving, or claim resolution, and produced work that drives real decisions. Now that expertise has a new application: shaping how frontier AI models reason through complex insurance problems. What you'll do Design realistic claims tasks: claim intake, investigations, coverage determinations, reserve-setting decisions, and claim resolution scenarios. Write evaluation rubrics that reflect how experienced claims professionals reason through coverage, liability, reserves, settlement decisions, and recovery opportunities. Review AI-generated work and flag where models miss coverage issues, set inadequate reserves, mishandle investigations, or reach unsupported claim outcomes, explaining why it matters. Build reference claim files and adjudication materials that set the benchmark models are tested. Communicate claim decisions and rationale clearly in writing. How Engagements Work Fully remote, part-time, and flexible. Work is scoped by project and ranges from short engagements to ongoing collaborations, structured as a contract or a monthly retainer. You May Be A Good Fit If: 5–8+ years handling P&C claims — as an adjuster, examiner, claims specialist, or claims manager. You’ve made coverage decisions, set reserves, or handled claim outcomes that had to withstand scrutiny. AIC, CPCU, SCLA, or equivalent (preferred, not required). You can explain why a claim resolves the way it does clearly enough to teach the reasoning, not just the outcome. Compensation $80–$200 per hour, aligned with expertise, scope, and impact; exceptional or highly specialised expertise can go higher.
