Job Description

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for the logistics category to achieve cost savings and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and evaluate suppliers to ensure optimal quality, cost, and service levels.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with logistics providers.
  • Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to maintain high service standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align sourcing strategies with company objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and provide insights to support decision-making in procurement activities.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure long-term partnerships and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements in all procurement activities.

The Successful Applicant A successful Strategic Sourcing Buyer - Logistics should have:

  • A solid understanding of procurement and supply chain principles, particularly in the logistics category.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Proficiency in analyzing market data and supplier performance metrics.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities to engage with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving cost savings and operational improvements.

What's on Offer

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field
  • 3-7+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or logistics buying
  • Proven experience negotiating freight, transportation, or logistics service contracts
  • Strong understanding of transportation markets and logistics cost drivers
  • Experience working with carriers, brokers, and 3PLs
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable working with large spend categories and multi-site operations
