Job Title: Corporate / M&A Associate (2-6 Years Experience) Locations: Chicago, IL | Cleveland, OH | Detroit (Bloomfield Hills), MI Compensation: $150,000 - $220,000 base salary (commensurate with experience and location) The Firm A well-established, full-service U.S. law firm with a strong and growing Corporate / M&A practice advising private companies, founders, and private equity-backed businesses on a wide range of mid-market transactions. The firm operates a collaborative, national platform, offering associates exposure to high-quality transactional work within lean deal teams. Role Overview The firm is seeking a Corporate / M&A Associate (2-6 years’ experience) to join its transactional team across multiple offices. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with solid deal experience looking to take on greater responsibility and work more closely with clients and partners on active transactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on mergers & acquisitions (buy-side and sell-side)
- Draft and negotiate purchase agreements (APA/SPA)
- Prepare and review disclosure schedules
- Support and lead due diligence processes
- Assist with structuring and executing transactions
- Prepare corporate documents (operating/shareholder agreements)
- Work closely with partners on deal execution and strategy
- Collaborate across a national team
Requirements
- 2-6 years’ Corporate / M&A experience
- Strong drafting experience across transaction documents
- Experience with disclosure schedules and diligence processes
- Exposure to private company and/or private equity transactions
- Strong academic credentials
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment
