Our client, a leading innovation hub in Orlando, Florida, US , is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Research Scientist to join their cutting-edge Scientific Research & Development team. The ideal candidate will possess a Ph.D. in Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field, with a strong track record of independent research and publication. You will be instrumental in designing, executing, and analyzing complex experiments focused on the development of novel materials with advanced properties. This role involves leading projects from conceptualization through to prototype validation, requiring a deep understanding of synthesis techniques, characterization methods, and theoretical modeling. Key responsibilities include: Developing and optimizing synthetic routes for new material compositions. Utilizing advanced characterization techniques such as SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS, and spectroscopy to evaluate material structure and properties. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product managers, to translate research findings into viable product applications. Managing research projects, including setting timelines, allocating resources, and reporting progress to stakeholders. Mentoring junior scientists and contributing to a collaborative and innovative research environment. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in materials science and identifying opportunities for new research initiatives. Contributing to intellectual property development through patent filings. Ensuring adherence to all safety protocols and laboratory best practices. The successful candidate will have 7+ years of post-doctoral research experience or equivalent industry experience. Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong analytical abilities, and a proactive approach to research are essential. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required to effectively present complex scientific data to diverse audiences.
