Remote/In Person Entry Level Criminal Justice - Digital Reporter

JOB DESCRIPTION Are you considering transitioning from your current entry-level position in Criminal Justice to becoming a Digital Reporter? In this role, you'll oversee civil litigation proceedings and use digital tools to record all content, including witness testimonies. The Digital Reporter is responsible for:
- Overseeing proceedings as an independent custodian of the record.
- Administering oaths to witnesses and fulfilling State Notary duties.
- Recording proceedings with high-fidelity audio technology for clear and comprehensive documentation.
- Annotating case events and terminology accurately for precise transcription.
- Conducting in-depth research and verifying information from various sources.
- Utilizing digital databases and online research tools proficiently.
REQUIREMENTS
- State Notary Commission or eligibility to obtain it
- Possess or have the ability to obtain certification/state licensure (in required states)
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn about U.S. civil procedures
- Possess or be willing to acquire digital reporting equipment
- Comfortable moderating live legal proceedings
- Fluent in English speaking, reading, and writing
- Strong technology skills, especially in typing
- Professional demeanor, reliability, punctuality, and appearance
- Willingness to work as an independent contractor
- Note: No shorthand nor stenography is required
- Willing to work both remotely and in person
