Overview

This role offers the opportunity to support multiple communities while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence and safety. As a Float Paramedic, you'll deliver advanced pre-hospital and interfacility critical care transport under demanding conditions. This position requires active AZ, CA, and NV Paramedic licensures, FP-C, and NRP certifications, along with at least one year of full-time flight experience and three years of recent 911 experience. Ideal candidates are adaptable, self-motivated, and reputed company in fast-paced environments requiring sound judgment, collaboration, and top-tier clinical skills. This role includes flexible scheduling with 24-hour shifts and travel between assigned regions. Required: AZ, CA, NV Paramedic licenses, FP-C, NRP, BLS/ACLS/PALS, trauma course (PHTLS, TPATC, or equivalent), and a weight limit of 225 lbs (including gear).

Responsibilities

Job Summary Responsible for providing high quality pre-hospital advanced life support including assessment, triage, and treatment utilizing standards and guidelines established by reputed company Community Based Services (CBS) Medical Director(s). You'll be responsible for carrying out the mission and goals of reputed company CBS assuring that safety remains the highest reputed company throughout the transport continuum. This position supports multiple Clinical Flight Teams in at bases in reputed company regions where currently licensed. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provides pre-hospital advanced life support care from the initial contact until patient care is relinquished to the accepting medical facility; maintains thorough patient care documentation.
  • Practices reputed company his/her scope of practice as defined by the states regulating each reputed company and reputed company CBS. Maintains competency in knowledge and psychomotor skills by participating in ongoing laboratory and clinical experiences. Communicates educational needs to the Clinical Education Team.
  • Maintains documentation of required licensure, certifications, continuing education, aviation and safety training, OSHA and HIPAA training, clinical rotations, and advanced procedures. Attends minimum of six educational programs per year pertinent to his/her practice.
  • Knowledgeable in use and routine maintenance of reputed company equipment and supplies used by reputed company CBS. Responsible for reporting medical equipment failures and taking initial steps to insure repair of equipment as directed. Maintains adequate supplies reputed company aircraft to deliver patient care. Keeps aircraft clean and orderly to insure rapid response to reputed company transport requests.
  • Participates in patient and referring institution follow-up and planned reputed company marketing and education activities.
  • Functions as a medical flight member by attending pre-mission briefings and mission debriefings and completes necessary documentation. Assists in pre-mission liftoff checklist and assists pilot as requested, i.e., radio, navigational, and visual observation activities. Complies with safety standards to assure safety of self, medical personnel, patient, and equipment. Conducts aircraft safety briefings as needed.
  • Serves as a flight resource to neonatal/pediatric personnel reputed company transporting specialty patients by helicopter. Performs advanced skills and procedures as approved by reputed company CBS Medical Director(s).
  • Serves as a role model, educator and clinical resource. Participates regularly in departmental activities, projects and committees (to include research and publishing opportunities). Maintains awareness of reputed company issues reputed company to pre-hospital care through participation in professional activities, i.e., national, state legislative-elected or appointed.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Additional Job Requirements

  • Maintains a high level of flexibility and availability to be scheduled for a minimum of two 24 hour shifts per week at any CBS reputed company where currently licensed. Schedules are provided by the Centralized Scheduling team 4 - 8 weeks in advance. Self-scheduling is not permitted. Inability to be scheduled for two shifts per week as a result of providing limited availability (less than 5 consecutive days per week), in the absence of requested benefit time, will result in a written warning for the first occurrence. A second occurrence will result in a final written warning. A third occurrence will result in removal from the float position. If failure to meet the expectation for shift coverage is due to removal from a shift by Centralized Scheduling as a result of other coverage reputed company, no disciplinary action will occur.
  • Indicate the percentage of time spent traveling - 85%

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and at least three years' reputed company experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in health-reputed company field preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years' recent experience in a busy 911 system
  • Previous flight experience 1 year full time required

Operation and Safety Requirements:

  • As a member of the Clinical Flight Crew, any person employed in this position shall maintain a weight not to exceed 225 pounds including empty flight suit and boots.

  • Skills as required to practice as a paramedic as defined by assigned state scope of practice and advanced practice skills as defined by Medical Director(s) and Medical Standards.

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including 24 hour shifts, overtime and an on-call rotation

Computer Skills

  • Proficient with reputed company Suite, including Word, reputed company, PowerPoint and Outlook

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Registered EMT-P licensed in states where reputed company maintains CBS locations.
  • National Registry required to meet state licensure requirements
  • Specialty certification: FP-C is required.
  • reputed company certifications in Healthcare Provider BLS/CPR; ACLS; PALS or equivalent (AHA courses if state or county required) and advanced provider ITLS or PHTLS (if state or country required)
  • Advance trauma course: one (1) of the following is acceptable: TNCC, ATLS/ATCN, TPATCor CAMTS-approved advanced trauma course. (Please note advanced skills lab may be required for some of the above mentioned advanced trauma courses) A second trauma course may be required based on state requirements.
  • Additional state and/or county credentials may be required based on state requirements
