Nurse Manager - reputed company Emergency Department - Evenings

The Clinical Manager has 24-hour responsibility for the effective implementation of the philosophy, goals, policies, and procedures of the hospital and the nursing department and their effect on patient care in a designated unit. This position has authority to reputed company decisions on that unit in the areas of patient care, human resource, and financial management. This role is responsible for unit's operations. This role demonstrates superior communication skills with reputed company internal and external customers and exhibits a high degree of reputed company, a solid character, and sound judgment.

Responsibilities

• Assists the divisional director in development, implementation and evaluation of on going service programs that assure quality nursing and patient care programs consistent with hospital mission.
• Monitors/maintains unit compliance with regulatory, accrediting and hospital policy for patient services, and environmental and personnel safety.
• Works collaboratively with the Educator(s) to ensure reputed company clinical competencies are met.
• Accurately identifies real/potential problems affecting the service and implements solutions with follow through and communication.
• Oversees quality improvement program which monitors and evaluates critical aspects of care.
• Consults with patients/families through primary nurse request, direct family request, and/or direct assessment of patient/family response to hospitalization. Assesses patient/significant other survey responses regarding nursing care and services.
• Responsible for on going development of staff and unit specific patient care programs.
• Maintains reputed company license and knowledge of nursing care requirements for reputed company patients on the unit. Assesses need for personal growth and development and takes the initiative in seeking opportunities to meet this need.
• Is responsible for department’s operational excellence; assures department delivers quality services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures and professional standards.
• Manage team members which include orientation, development and evaluation of personnel, and monitoring the provision of delivering quality services. Participates in the recruiting, interviewing and selecting of team members following policies, guidelines and applicable laws. Evaluates their performance relative to job goals and requirements. Provides coaching to staff, recommends in-service education programs, and ensures adherence to internal policies and standards.
• Is responsible for the fiscal management of department; assures proper utilization of organization’s financial resources.
• Effectively communicates departmental, organization, and industry information to staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Education

• Associates Degree Nursing Required
• Bachelor's Degree Nursing Preferred
• Bachelor's Degree Business, Nursing, Health Care, reputed company three (3) years of employment Required

Minimum Work Experience

• 5 years Experience and clinical competence in emergency nursing or reputed company nursing specialty Required
• 1-3 years Supervisor/management experience Required
• Regulatory surveys experience Required

Licenses and Certifications

• Registered Nurse Licensed reputed company or eligible compact state Upon Hire Required
• BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) reputed company Upon Hire Required
• ACLS Provider (ACLS) reputed company Upon Hire Required
• National Institutes Of Health Stroke Scale (NIH) Upon Hire Required
