Position Overview

Role Overview

Lead accounting and controls for Khloud. This position will play a hands-on leadership role across several areas, including the integrity of financial reporting, building scalable controls and processes, defining and optimizing month end close, effectively managing gross to net revenue accounting and working capital (AP/AR) and successfully implementing an ERP transition from Quickbooks to NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Own and continuously improve the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process
  • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy of revenue recognition, accruals, and reserves
  • Establish and maintain strong internal controls in a scaling environment

ERP Transition Leadership

  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external consultants to:
    • Design chart of accounts and dimensional structure
  • Configure inventory, costing, and order-to-cash workflows
  • Migrate historical data and validate system outputs
  • Drive process standardization and documentation
  • Train internal teams and ensure adoption across functions

Gross to Net Sales and Trade Spend

  • Own the end-to-end gross to net revenue accounting process, ensuring accurate recognition of net sales after trade, rebates, discounts, returns and allowances.
  • Establish and maintain a strong trade spend accrual methodology
  • Oversee the customer deduction management & validation process
  • Work closely with Sales to ensure trade terms are consistently applied and enforced
  • Support implementation of potential trade promotion management systems

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Own inventory accounting across co-manufacturers, 3PLs, and warehouses
  • Develop and maintain standard costing and BOMs to enable accurate COGS and Gross Margin by SKU
  • Implement cycle counts and support physical inventory audits

Cash Flow & Working Capital Management

  • Manage AP/AR processes, payment cycles, and collections
  • Support banking relationships, debt compliance, and reporting

Team Leadership & External Coordination

  • Build and manage a lean but high-performing accounting team (AP/AR, staff accountant)
  • Partner with CFO to oversee external partners:
    • Audit
    • Tax
    • ERP consultants

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
  • 8–12+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • CPG, food/beverage, or manufacturing industry experience required
  • NetSuite and ERP implementation experience strongly preferred
  • Strong excel skills
  • Experience operating in a growth stage company

  • Successful NetSuite implementation with strong adoption across teams
  • Clear, reliable visibility into inventory, Trade (Net Sales), COGS, and gross margins
  • Strong internal controls and scalable processes
