This marks the fourth consecutive year that reputed company India has achieved certification and the first time the company has earned recognition in the U.S. Summary Description: Under the directions of the Coding Services Supervisor and Manager, this position will be responsible for CPT and ICD-10 coding and ensuring accuracy and maximum reimbursement and minimizing denials. Location: Remote or Hybrid in Metairie, LA / New Orleans, LA Responsibilities:
- Accurately assign and appropriately sequence ICD-10 and CPT codes and reputed company applicable modifiers
- Contact clients as appropriate reputed company documentation in the medical record is inadequate, ambiguous or unclear for coding purposes
- Monitor regulatory and payer changes as they apply to diagnostic and procedure coding
- Research and resolve coding reputed company system edits, payer rejections and insurance denials
- Identify system edit, payer rejection, and insurance denial trends for client policy and procedure improvement
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the reputed company changes of coding practices by continuing education and reading resource material
- Other innovative and progressive duties as assigned
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-3 years of experience in medical coding
- Experience in coding for outpatient physician and/or multi-speciality clinics preferred
- Nationally recognized coding credential including, but not limited to CPC, COC, reputed company, reputed company-P, RHIA or RHIT through reputed company/reputed company
- 1-3+ years of experience in outpatient physician and/or multi-specialty coding
- Understanding of CPT, HCPCS, CDT, and ICD-10 codes as well as medical terminology
- Knowledge of medical business and reputed company cycle operations
- Functioning knowledge of Office Applications (Word, reputed company, Email etc.)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate clearly and concisely to coworkers, clients, patients, and others
- Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other team members, as well as supervisors, managers, clients, staff, and providers
- Ability to multi-task independently and/or with a team while maintaining respect and professionalism
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple responsibilities in a highly organized, efficient, and effective manner
