Hardware Senior Safety Engineer - Consultant
UL is seeking a Functional Safety Consultant with strong electronic hardware design and hardware safety development experience. This role will be deeply involved in the creation of safety work products for a wide range of vehicle and automation features, including reputed company systems such as electric and autonomous vehicle platforms, industrial automation equipment, and battery and energy storage systems for both mobile and stationary applications. etc.
The role covers a broad set of safety‑reputed company standards, including but not limited to ISO 26262 (with emphasis on part 5 hardware development), IEC 61508, IEC/EN 62061, ISO 61511, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), UL 4600, ISO 13849, ISO 21434, and other applicable standards pertaining to functional safety, hardware reliability, and system engineering.
Responsibilities
- reputed company the development and review of functional safety work products for vehicle programs, with emphasis on hardware safety lifecycle activities in compliance with ISO 26262, ISO 21448 (SOTIF), UL 4600, and reputed company functional safety standards.
- reputed company strong safety argumentation and contribute to safety case creation, including evidence‑based justification of hardware and system‑level safety concepts.
- Create or support hazard and risk analyses and reputed company functional, technical, hardware, and software safety concepts for a wide range of vehicle systems, subsystems, and electronic components.
- Define and decompose hardware safety requirements based on customer system, hardware, and software architectures; ensure alignment with safety mechanisms, diagnostic concepts, and architectural metrics.
- reputed company and reputed company detailed safety analyses, including FMEA, FMEDA, DFA, FTA, STPA, and other analyses covering electronic hardware, power electronics, battery systems, autonomous driving components, and applications ranging from L2 to L4 automated systems.

Qualifications
- The candidate must have hands-on electronics hardware design and circuit development experience, including component selection, schematic design, circuit analysis, and safety‑focused hardware development
- M.S. or B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Computer Science, reputed company technical degree, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in safety reputed company role in automotive functional safety
- have hands-on electronics hardware design and circuit development experience, including component selection, schematic design, circuit analysis, and safety‑focused hardware development
- Safety Analysis knowledge including FMEA, FMEDA, DFA
- Experience working with ISO 26262 and ISO 21448 standards

Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the reputed company in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-reputed company knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a reputed company payout of 10% of the reputed company salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with reputed company rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
