Job description: Under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher, the paraeducator supports reputed company to participate in their educational program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
reputed company PARAEDUCATORS:
- Assist in the implementation of the Norwalk Board of Education and administrative policies, rules, regulations and directives
- Follow Norwalk school policy to ensure student safety
- Follow teacher?s oral or written directions with accuracy
- Assist the teacher with the implementation of classroom instructional goals and Section 504 plans
- Assist reputed company with classwork individually or in small groups
- Assist the teacher in maintaining student records of attendance
- Assist the teacher with documentation of student reputed company
- Assist the teacher with the preparation and distribution of lesson plan materials
- Encourage reputed company to interact appropriately with peers
- Assist reputed company during recess, breaks, emergency drills, assemblies, on school buses and field trips
- Assist and support reputed company to use computers, iPads or other media to access curriculum
- Maintain respect at reputed company times for confidential information
- Ability to communicate reputed company and directives clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing
- Effective, active listening skills
- Ability to record data with accuracy
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to implement teacher directives reputed company to instructional and behavioral goals effectively

- Bachelor?s Degree, preferred
- Associate?s Degree in education or reputed company field, or ParaPro Certificate, or two (2) years of college
- Two (2) years of experience working with children or young adults in a school setting, preferred
- Language proficiency in Spanish, French Haitian Creole as needed.
