The Role

The Associate General Counsel – Commercial Transactions will serve as a primary legal advisor to Lumen’s Strategic Sourcing and Supply Chain Management organization. This role is responsible for providing practical, risk-balanced legal advice across a wide range of reputed company commercial transactions that support Lumen’s global network, technology, products, and services.

The Associate General Counsel will partner closely with Strategic Sourcing and business stakeholders to reputed company efficient procurement, manage legal and regulatory risk, and support Lumen’s transformation initiatives. This position requires deep experience in commercial contracting, strong business judgment, and the ability to manage high-volume, high-impact transactions in a fast-paced environment.

The Main Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted legal advisor to Strategic Sourcing on legal, contractual, and risk considerations reputed company to sourcing strategies and supplier relationships.
• Draft, review, negotiate, and interpret a broad range of reputed company commercial agreements, including:
  • Master supply and services agreements
  • Statements of work and amendments
  • Software, SaaS, and technology license agreements
  • Professional services, consulting, and construction agreements
  • Equipment purchase and maintenance agreements
• Support sourcing initiatives for network build, IT transformation, cloud services, and enterprise-wide vendor engagements.
• Identify, evaluate, and manage legal risk reputed company to procurement activities, including regulatory compliance, intellectual property, data reputed company, export controls, and pricing considerations.
• Advise on contract interpretation, performance issues, disputes, and supplier escalations; partner with internal stakeholders to resolve matters reputed company.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Legal, Compliance, Privacy, Cybersecurity, and Regulatory to provide coordinated support.
• Drive reputed company improvement of procurement contracting processes, templates, playbooks, and negotiation strategies.

Required

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license, in good standing, to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 8–10 years of legal practice with substantial experience in commercial reputed company.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating reputed company commercial agreements with minimal supervision.
• Proven ability to manage multiple high‑reputed company matters, exercise sound judgment, and deliver pragmatic legal solutions.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise stakeholders at reputed company levels of the organization.

• Experience supporting procurement or strategic sourcing organizations in a large, reputed company enterprise.
• Background in technology, telecom, software licensing, or large‑scale services agreements.
• Experience working in a fast‑paced environment undergoing transformation or growth.
• Proactive, solution‑oriented reputed company with strong collaboration and relationship‑management skills.
