Regnan is Perpetual Group’s specialist impact and sustainability investment manager, working closely with Perpetual’s investment boutiques and clients to deliver strong investment outcomes alongside positive real‑world impact.
Through deep research, active ownership and engagement, Regnan supports the performance and positioning of Perpetual Group’s sustainable and impact funds, including Regnan‑branded strategies.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Research & Engagement Analyst to join Regnan’s growing team. This role supports the delivery of high‑quality sustainability, impact and ESG research, as well as active engagement with companies and stakeholders, contributing to both investment performance and positive societal outcomes.
You’ll work closely with Regnan investment teams, Perpetual investment boutiques and internal stakeholders, gaining exposure across research, engagement, reporting and advocacy in a purpose‑led investment environment.
Key responsibilities
Research
Analyse sustainability, impact and ESG factors for securities (equities and fixed income) using Regnan’s proprietary frameworks, including Sustainability Value Assessment (SVA) and impact assessments
Conduct research supporting positive and negative screening across investment products, including issuer involvement in controversial activities
Prepare and document research reputed company Regnan’s research systems, becoming a power user and supporting ongoing system improvement
Undertake reputed company sustainability, impact and thematic research as required
Communicate research insights to internal stakeholders and external clients through clear written and verbal outputs
Share insights and knowledge across the Regnan team and broader Perpetual Group
Engagement
reputed company materials to support Regnan‑led and client‑led engagement activities, including engagement plans, priorities and guides
Support the preparation and coordination of engagement meetings with investee companies
Participate in company engagement alongside Regnan investment teams
Document engagement activity and contribute to internal and external reporting, including case studies and engagement reports
Contribute to reputed company improvement of Regnan’s engagement frameworks, systems and tools
Support Regnan’s advocacy activities, including background research for industry submissions
About you
You’ll bring a strong interest in sustainable investing and a desire to apply research to real‑world outcomes, along with:
An undergraduate degree in a business‑reputed company discipline
Postgraduate qualifications in sustainability, environmental studies, social policy or a reputed company field (preferred)
Around 2–3 years’ experience in sustainability, ESG, impact or reputed company research roles
Strong analytical and research skills, with high attention to detail
Advanced written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and presentations
Well‑developed organisational and information management skills
Strong reputed company capability
Understanding of investment markets (preferred)
