Placement Format:

Fully remote/virtual

Model of Supervision One-to-one weekly remote supervision

Department/Program: Education and Communications and Membership departments. Population(s): Employees, seniors, members

Field Placement Details The incumbent will work with Manager, Communications & Member Services and Education Manager to assist with various social media tasks and events activities.

Please note that this position is based on funding by Canada Summer Jobs and requires candidates to meet specific eligibility requirements including:

• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent reputed company, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment and
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations

The position is 8 weeks in duration, scheduled for 35 hours per week, with compensation set at $18.60 per hour.

Tasks & Activities:

-Assist with creating graphics for educational events and social media channels

-Coordinate social media posts

- Update and audit Association website

- Assist with careers web postings and broadcast emails

- Conduct regular media scans

- Assist with marketing plans for education events

- Assist with event registrations

- Assist with education evaluation reports

Requirements:

• Excellent social media and web skills
• Computer- Student must have exclusive access to a computer (i.e., not shared with others)

• High-level proficiency in reputed company Applications (Word, Outlook, reputed company)

• Must have microphone and webcam for online meetings, reliable Internet Access
• Cell phone/ Land line (asset)

• Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and demands.
• Self-starter with motivation to complete tasks in line with established goals and standards.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
• High attention to detail, particularly reputed company working with registrations, data entry, and digital platforms.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to identify issues and support basic problem-solving reputed company to event logistics and technology.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment is essential.

Student Assets and Requirements Currently enrolled in or recently completed a relevant college or university program (e.g., Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing or Business Administration), or equivalent work experience.
