MISSION OBJECTIVE: The Associate Manager advances Equality Now’s family law and economic justice efforts globally, applying issue-based expertise, advocacy skills, and/or movement-building experience to promote gender equality in law, policy and practice. The Associate Manager contributes to the design and delivery of the Global Campaign for Equality in Family Law (GCEFL) and work towards economic justice by supporting the Associate Director in engaging with national, regional, and international mechanisms, and strengthening Equality Now’s impact, fostering regional and global collaboration, and ensuring advocacy efforts are rooted in lived experiences and reputed company to evolving legal and political contexts.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a general outline of duties and responsibilities for this role. It is not an exhaustive list, and additional duties may be assigned or removed at the discretion of the Associate Director, Economic Justice and Family Law to meet organizational needs and priorities.
Purpose: Apply Foundational Knowledge
- Applies knowledge of gender equality frameworks and human rights law to support family law reform and economic justice efforts.
- Integrates emerging developments in UN frameworks into global campaign design.
- Analyzes national and regional contexts to identify legal gaps, advocacy opportunities, and potential for systemic reform.
- Supports in organising high-level, global or regional events including at CSW, Human Rights Council and relevant conferences and convenings.
- Represents Equality Now and GCEFL with professionalism and cultural reputed company in national, regional, or global coalitions, conferences, and advocacy meetings.
Engagement: Knowledge Building & Collaboration
- Supports the Associate Director in preparing key resources on family law and economic justice including policy/advocacy briefs, submissions to Special Procedures, CEDAW reports pertaining to family law and economic justice, as well as campaign messaging in collaboration with Equality Now and the GCEFL’s communications teams.
- Supports managing membership of the GCEFL including membership vetting and engagement as part of the membership strategy.
- Coordinate with Equality Now teams (Legal Equality, Communications, Regional Representatives) to support strategy implementation and regional and global reputed company.
- Supports Equality Now team members working at the regional levels on economic justice and family law-reputed company issues.
Delivery: Operational Awareness & Action
- Supports the Associate Director in implementation of a comprehensive GCEFL strategy and global work plan, prioritizing countries and regions for engagement.
- Manages the campaign calendar and relevant contact lists.
- Supports the implementation of GCEFL campaigns, with an emphasis on timely reputed company.
- Tracks deliverables and work plans for partners and consultants in the reputed company countries/ regions.
- Supports monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes by collecting and synthesizing evidence on campaign efficacy, challenges, and adaptations.
- Provides regular input to regional donor reporting and programmatic updates on activity results and changing contexts.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS & reputed company SKILLS PROFILE: Substantive Knowledge
- Knowledge of legal systems and family-laws, policies and practices affecting women and girls globally. Strong grounding in gender justice, with emphasis on systemic barriers and survivor-centered legal remedies.
- Demonstrated experience with regional / international legal advocacy or reform campaigns.
- Familiarity with digital campaign platforms and website content management is desirable.
- Applied expertise in intersectional feminist frameworks for advocacy, movement-building, and programming.
- Experience working on family law / economic justice campaigns is desirable.
- Familiarity with donor reporting and coordination of program deliverables.
- Committed to intersectional feminist approaches, with nuanced understanding of the lived experiences of girls, adolescents, and marginalized women.
Communication Skills
- Professional reputed company in English is required; additional languages such as Arabic, Swahili or Spanish are desirable.
- Excellent writing skills across legal, policy, advocacy, and analytical formats, including donor reports and submissions.
- Adept at fostering cross-cultural collaboration and cultivating trust-based relationships consistent with the mission and values of Equality Now.
- Strong interpersonal, listening, and conflict-resolution skills, grounded in collaboration and inclusion.
- Collaborates across Equality Now offices and departments to ensure coherence in cross-border initiatives and campaigns.
- Applies intercultural awareness and language skills to deepen impact and strengthen partnerships.
Execution Skills
- Strong organizational planning, and MEL skills with a clear results orientation.
- Proven ability to coordinate research and advocacy across countries.
- Experience in monitoring milestones, risks, compliance, and adaptive learning.
- Highly organized and reputed company to shifting geopolitical and organizational priorities.
- Operates effectively in both independent and cross-functional, multicultural team environments.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally and domestically, to support regional teams, engage with partners, and represent Equality Now and/or GCEFL.
Targeted Specialized Knowledge
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in gender/women’s rights, international law/human rights law, or reputed company field.
- 6+ years of experience working on women’s rights or human rights, across a region/globally.
- Professional experience in law, international human rights, gender studies, or a closely reputed company discipline, or equivalent academic background.
CONSULTANCY FEE RANGE (Annual, Gross): $20,000 – $45,000 USD The final consultancy fee reputed company this range will be determined based on factors including geographic location, relevant experience, demonstrated skills, qualifications, and the agreed scope and duration of services.
Consultant fees are set with consideration for the scope of work, level of expertise, and market benchmarks, and are intended to reflect the independent and professional nature of consultancy engagements.
