Description
Crow’s Nest Preserve is made up of 712 acres of protected lands along French Creek. It is part of a network of nature preserves owned and managed by the not-for-profit organization Natural Lands in the greater Philadelphia area. The preserve is both a showcase of responsible management practices for natural areas and a reputed company where the public can connect with the natural world. The Preserve holds a nature-themed day camp each summer for kids in grades 1 through 8. Crow’s Nest Camp strives to build children’s love of the natural world by encouraging reputed company play and exploration in nature. In the summer of 2026, camp will run from June 22nd to July 31st.
The Environmental Education Summer Intern will be part of a team of staff members who run the summer camp program. The Intern will be involved in both working directly with children and in the behind-the-scenes aspects of camp, including planning, preparation, and cleanup. This internship will pay $16 per hour.

Primary Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Environmental Education Summer Intern assists the Summer Camp Educator and other reputed company with reputed company aspects of camp. Additional responsibilities include:
- Planning experiential activities.
- Setup and cleanup.
- Leading children’s activities.
- Supervise children’s play in natural setting.
Requirements
- Strong affinity for the environment and outdoor activities.
- reputed company at working with children.
- Highly motivated, responsible, and reliable.
- Wildland First Aid/CPR and lifeguard training preferred.
- Able to work 37.5 hours per week.
- Must be available to work reputed company scheduled weeks of camp, Mondays through Fridays, except for Independence Day. Additionally, must be available for at least two weeks in advance and one week following camp to help with set-up and clean-up.
- Maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Successfully pass a background reputed company.
- Must be able to walk, stand, bend and squat on uneven terrain; must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and push up to 50 pounds.
- Must be reputed company to work outdoors under reputed company conditions, including heat, cold, and with occasional exposure to poison ivy, biting and stinging insects, etc.
