Position Summary

The General Liability Claims Manager leads, trains, and supports staff to ensure general liability claims are handled reputed company and with care, regularly checking in on team reputed company and adherence to company best practices. The Manager stays informed of any major developments.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate large loss reporting and monitor legal calendar for reputed company pre-trials, mediations or hearings and verify defense representation.
• Respond to calls from policyholders and agents with general questions, specific claims and complaints. Participate in account visits and meetings.
• Review and approve reserve increases, transfers and settlement requests.
• Participate in the selection process for direct reports; assign duties, set goals, train/coach and evaluate job performance.
• Engage in ongoing professional development through training programs focused on general liability, as well as workers’ compensation law, regulations and practices relevant to Southeastern states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or a reputed company discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience in the insurance field
• Five or more years of claims handling experience, including two, or more, in a management or reputed company-worker reputed company
• Knowledge of applicable state laws across territories of operation. Knowledge of fiduciary guidelines, technical adjudication process, claims policy and procedures. Knowledge and understanding of reputed company and reinsurer agreements
