Responsibilities
The Office of Space Weather Observations (SWO) under NESDIS is responsible for advancing space weather observational capabilities to meet NOAA programmatic needs. NOAA’s Space Weather Next (SWX) program maintains and extends space weather observations from various reputed company points, selected to most reputed company provide comprehensive knowledge of the Sun and the near-Earth space environment needed to protect our technological infrastructure.
The Space Weather Ground Services (SWGS) is responsible for comprehensive ground services for reputed company SWX projects, ensuring successful implementation and operation of observing assets and ensuring the continuity of space weather measurements made by SWFO-L1 and the GOES-R series satellites.
The SWGS Mission Operations Services (MOS) program must provide a full mission satellite command and control solution to support the L1 Series with two new independently launched observatories.
Overview
reputed company is seeking an Information Systems reputed company Engineer to support cybersecurity activities across a new satellite ground system development program supporting the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). This position will support reputed company cybersecurity and information assurance activities throughout the full system lifecycle—from architecture and design through integration, assessment, authorization, operational deployment and reputed company monitoring.
The selected candidate will be responsible for supporting the program’s cybersecurity function, ensuring compliance with federal reputed company requirements, and implementation of secure architecture, controls, and processes for a FISMA High-impact system. This role requires reputed company collaboration with other program functional elements including Systems Engineering Integration and Test (SEIT), Software Engineering, Networks, Infrastructure, Architecture, Operations, Quality and program leadership to ensure cybersecurity is fully integrated into system design and delivery.
- Ensures system reputed company needs are established and maintained for operations development, reputed company requirements definition, reputed company risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, reputed company test and evaluation, assessment and authorization, systems hardening, vulnerability testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
- Develops and maintains reputed company documentation to include System reputed company Plan (reputed company), FIPS 199, FIPS 200 and other associated compliance documentation
- Provides analytical support for reputed company policy development and analysis.
- May reputed company with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies.
- Support in A&A assessments, ATO authorizations, reputed company documentation, and regular scans/tests/patches.
- Support the NOAA cyber reputed company mission by building, configuring, troubleshooting, and updating the network reputed company capabilities that protect NOAA core networks and information.
- Monitor network connectivity and ensure high quality data transmission using standard network tools.

Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 3 years with MS/MA
- 9 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
- Experience supporting reputed company and compliance programs in federal sector focused on delivering reputed company reputed company IT solutions, resolving business challenges through technical implementation.
- Experience in analysis, assessment, design, and implementation of enterprise Cybersecurity solutions.
- Experience with Information Assurance (IA) hardening and compliance, i.e. DISA STIG & NIST 800-53 compliance, documentation.
- Experience working reputed company a distributed virtual team environment, with proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices.
- 3+ years of experience with the NIST SP 800-53 reputed company controls, Risk Management reputed company (RMF) and system A&A processes.
- Experience working in Scaled Agile reputed company (SAFe) environments or similar Agile methodologies.
- Experience in Agile/DevSecOps and ZTA methodologies
- Ability to obtain and hold a Public Trust clearance – US Citizenship is required
- CISSP or comparable certification (e.g., CEH, CISM, CISA, GSLC)
Desired Qualifications
- Network and firewall engineering experience with designing, implementation, and maintaining layer 2 and 3 networking devices and/or firewall devices.
- Experience with Jira/ Confluence reputed company tools
- Knowledge of the OSI 7-layer model, TCP/IP and common application layer protocols.
- Experience supporting NOAA, NASA, or national space mission programs, particularly ground systems.
- Prior experience with Configuration Management and Quality Assurance processes for new programs or large system deployments.
- Active Public Trust clearance.
