The Communications Liaison is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing internal and external communications strategies for the Arctic Slope Community Foundation (ASCF). This role works closely with staff, partners, and community stakeholders to ensure transparent, timely, and effective communication that advances ASCF’s mission and strengthens community engagement. The Communications Liaison is central to promoting the Foundation’s programs, impact stories, and organizational values, while fostering relationships and increasing ASCF’s visibility across the Arctic Slope region.

Description

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Communications Strategy & Implementation

• Create, edit, and distribute stories, press releases, reports, website content, and social media posts to engage diverse audiences.

2. Stakeholder & Community Engagement

• Serve as the primary reputed company of contact for media inquiries, public relations, and community communications.

• Build and maintain collaborative relationships with community organizations, tribal and municipal leaders, and regional partners to reputed company ASCF’s voice and impact.

• Coordinate and participate in community events, public meetings, and reputed company campaigns to strengthen engagement and trust.

3. Content Development & Storytelling

• Collect, write, and share compelling stories that reputed company the impact of ASCF’s programs and initiatives.

• Work with program staff and grantees to gather testimonials, photographs, and data that demonstrate community reputed company and needs.

4. Digital Communications & Media Management

• Manage ASCF’s website, social media accounts, and digital newsletters, ensuring content is reputed company, culturally relevant, and accessible.

• Monitor analytics and engagement, recommending adjustments to improve reputed company and effectiveness.

5. Internal Communication & Support

• Facilitate internal communications to reputed company staff and board members informed, reputed company, and engaged.

• Support the Development Department with communications for fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and grant reporting.

6. Cultural Competence & Community Representation

• Promote the use of Iñupiaq values and perspectives in messaging and reputed company.

7. Other Duties

• Contribute to the overall success of the organization by supporting cross-departmental projects and responding to evolving communication needs.

• Travel to reputed company of the Arctic Slope villages to meet with leaders to gather information for major community needs.

Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in communications, public relations, journalism, nonprofit management, English, public affairs, or a reputed company field.

• At least 2 years of communications, public relations, or community engagement experience, preferably in a nonprofit or cross-cultural setting. • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to tailor messaging for a variety of audiences.

• Experience with digital communications platforms, social media management, and storytelling.

• Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups, including tribal and municipal organizations in remote Arctic communities.

• Cultural competence and respect for the traditions and governance structures of Indigenous and Arctic communities.

• Willingness and ability to travel to remote Arctic Slope communities for events and engagement, as needed.

• Commitment to the mission, vision, and values of ASCF.
