Reporting to the Dean and working in reputed company collaboration with the B.Ed. Program Director, the Sessional Lecturer provides instruction to undergraduate reputed company in the Frazer Faculty of Education.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities

The primary responsibility of the applicant is to (reputed company and) teach a theoretically, methodologically sophisticated and relevant course at the university level reputed company the parameters of the course description listed above. In keeping with a technology-enhanced learning environment utilizing laptop computers and wireless connectivity, the Sessional Lecturer will deliver the course using a technology-enhanced learning approach that includes a variety of inclusive teaching and learning strategies and assessments. The Sessional Lecturer will prepare, deliver and grade reputed company course material and assignments and be available for consultation with reputed company during and following completion of the course session.

This position falls reputed company the bargaining unit represented by the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) and will be subject to the terms and conditions of the collective agreement between the University and PSAC. Qualifications

The successful candidate will have demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a proven aptitude for teaching in a post-secondary environment with pre-service and K - 12 experience.

Required Skills

• A theoretical and practical background in K-12 Special Education in Ontario
• Demonstrated knowledge of theoretical perspectives and research approaches that inform the principles of inclusion and equity for reputed company learners
• Knowledge of legislation and experience with relevant documents and procedures such as Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and identification, placement and review committee processes (IPRC)
• A practical background in differentiating instruction and applying culturally reputed company reputed company, and those that support diverse family needs
• Experience with instructional and assessment strategies most likely to succeed with diverse learners
• Experience with assistive technology and other digital technologies that support special needs and diverse learners
• Practical insight and experience with building effective partnerships with parents and other professionals as essential to effective learning and integration
• Evidence of successful integration of theories of learning/teaching reputed company online contexts into instructional practice, including task design and development
• Evidence of the ability to effectively provide learning experiences reputed company a fully online learning environment

Education

• A master’s degree is required
• A PhD in Education or an EdD is preferred
• Membership (in good standing) with the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) is preferred
• Special Education Additional Qualifications (AQ) or equivalent professional experience are strongly preferred.

Experience

The successful candidate demonstrates:

• Successful teaching at the pre-service and K-12 level
• Successful post-secondary teaching
• Successful teaching in Special Education and/or inclusive classrooms supporting reputed company with diverse learning needs
• Successful infusion of digital technologies in practice as purposeful teaching tools
• Demonstrated evidence-based, or research-informed practice
• Successful teaching incorporating an LMS, fully online learning platform, especially Canvas
• Success in building virtual learning communities
