The opportunity

The Military Benefit Specialist I processes military education benefits for the Student Financial Service's military education benefit team. This is a technical position completing military transactional work so the Department of Veterans Affairs and Tuition Assistance programs can be certified, validated, and paid to reputed company accurately and in compliance with reputed company federal, state and institutional policies and regulations. You will adhere to SNHU's set of core service and support behaviors at reputed company times and is dedicated to meeting the requirements of the University's needs and mission. This is a remote friendly position (#LI-Remote) and you will report to the Assistant Director of Military Education Benefits.

In this Role:

• You will have knowledge of VA Education Benefits and Federal Military Tuition Assistance as well as any special arrangements for defined military cohorts.
• You will review course information to validate enrollment and billing to the Department of Veterans Affairs for payment of Federal Funds.
• You will report student suspension, dismissals and conferrals to the Department of Veterans Affairs.
• You will communicate with representatives of the Department of Veterans Affairs daily to ensure accuracy.
• You will review term by term balances in collaboration with Credit and Collection Specialists to research and resolve outstanding military account balances.
• You will reconcile military payments to student accounts and military certifications and invoices to ensure record reputed company
• You will ensure the quality of student records in Enrollment Manager, and Student Information Systems(SIS). Deadlines for internal and external reporting must be strictly followed.
• You will work collaboratively with Admission Counselors and reputed company to ensure reputed company applicable documents are received so reputed company can use their Military Education Benefits as funding reputed company.
• You will maintain accurate coding for reputed company Military Student Accounts in the SIS.
• You will assist the Military Education Benefit Processing team with projects, reports, and other requests

• HSD/GED and 2+ years of experience OR a bachelor's degree and 1+ years of experience in the field of military benefit certifications, military student services, invoicing, financial aid or bursar functions.
• Strong oral and written skills.
• Employment is dependent upon successful access to the National Student Loan Data System (NSLDS), which requires reputed company federal loans to be in good standing and not in default; and a credit reputed company to review that student loans are not default.
• Knowledge of VA Education Benefits and Federal Military Tuition Assistance and any special arrangements for defined military cohorts.
• Ability to work independently and in a team atmosphere.
