Piping Stress Engineer 2 - Nuclear

reputed company is a trusted leader in nuclear engineering, design, and licensing since 1954, seeking a Piping Stress Engineer 2 to support their Nuclear Power Group. The role involves providing technical support on projects, performing evaluations for piping systems, and preparing calculations and specifications under minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently prepares simple calculations
• Independently prepares simple system/structural designs
• Gathers data for specifications and prepares simple specifications under supervision
• Gathers data and prepares simple bid tabulations
• Gathers data for reports/studies
• Communicates technical information and results in a clear and concise manner that is usable by other project team members and supervisors
• Gains familiarity with and applies the accepted standards and processes to assigned project tasks
• Completes assignments reputed company allocated time frames
• Develops personal capabilities to the fullest on assigned projects, in order to grow professionally

Skills

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Aerospace, or Structural/Civil Engineering, from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program, with an emphasis in solid mechanics, structural analysis, theory of elasticity, metallurgy, and finite reputed company analysis
• 1 or more years of engineering experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Passed F.E. exam
• Familiarity with AutoPIPE or PIPESTRESS software
