Litigation Associate

reputed company is seeking associates and senior associates to join their growing litigation defense practice in Seattle. The role involves handling a variety of liability and insurance challenges, including insurance coverage and bad faith, catastrophic injury, and wrongful death cases.

Responsibilities

  • Take depositions, attending hearings, and mediations as required
  • Draft and submit pleadings, motions and briefs
  • Prepare correspondence to colleagues and clients
  • Conduct legal research using Westlaw/Lexis/Nexis
  • Draft discovery requests and discovery responses
  • Review and analyze documents and materials for production
  • Actively investigate claims and prepare case handling strategies
  • Actively and effectively report to our insurance reputed company clients and insureds
  • Prepare cases for trial/mediation and participate in trial/mediation

Skills

  • 1 – 10 years of experience
  • Admitted to practice in Washington State
  • Civil litigation experience
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle sensitive and time-sensitive matters
  • Effective problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
