JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus seeks candidates for a Lecturer (master level) or Teaching Assistant Professor (doctoral level) position in Mathematics. This is a full-time, 36 week, limited-term, multi-year appointment for August 2024 through June 2027 with excellent potential for re-appointment. Responsibilities: Teaching each semester (fall and spring). Teaching assignments may include, but are not limited to, courses in basic math skills, college algebra, plane trigonometry, technical calculus, elementary statistics, and advanced-level calculus. These assignments may require teaching day, evening and/or Saturday classes as needed. Other duties associated with the position include participating in course, curriculum, and program development; advising students and providing career guidance; and participating in campus, university, and community service activities. It also is expected that the successful applicant will engage in activities to stay current in the discipline. Employment will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. Qualifications: This position requires a Master level for Lecturer or Doctoral level for Assistant Teaching Professor. Commitment to high-quality instruction in a student-centered environment is expected. Prior college-level and online teaching experience preferred as well as an interest in active and collaborative learning and the instructional use of technology. Experience in MATLAB and Mathematica is an advantage but is not required. Enthusiasm for working in a multidisciplinary environment is important.
