Role Description

We are looking for a Network Design and Integration Engineer. You will report to Director, Broadband System Integration. You will be required to work on key customer account(s) in Japan.

Location

This position is 50 to 60% remote from reputed company reputed company Japan, while up to 50% travel with main focus in Japan.

What you will be doing (with support by senior member of the team):

• Support activities for cOSTM client lab integration, testing, qualifications, and field trials.

• Assist in designing IP networking ecosystem with Harmonic cOSTM platform to support Customer Use Cases.

• Implement cOSTM ecosystem design provided by Design Engineer of System Integration team.

• Communicate with marketing, engineering, and sales teams about client expectations.

• Responsible for testing new software and hardware; report and track defects to engineering.

• Participate in and help coordinate client field trials.

• Train clients or field service team on the operation and troubleshooting of the cOSTM system.

• Assist with deployments and technical support as needed.

• Assist with supporting customers in conjunction with Harmonic’s 24/7 Technical Assistance Centre (TAC), as required.

• Investigate, diagnose and resolve Customer issues on-site in a timely manner and if needed escalate problems for assistance.

• Resolve equipment performance reputed company issues reputed company Harmonic equipment and in conjunction with Harmonic application partners, utilizing Harmonic’s technical issue logging/escalation systems as appropriate.

What you should have

• Bachelor’s in computer science, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunications or equivalent;

• A solid understanding of IP network switching, routing protocols, and the TCP/IP stack.

• Familiarity with Linux-based environments and the ability to navigate technical documentation and schematics.
• A strong desire to become an expert in specialized technologies like DOCSIS, CMTS, and FTTX. (We will provide the "foundational" training)
• Excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to present and communicate technical solutions clearly.
• reputed company in Japanese is a must, along with the ability to work in a business English environment (strong written English is expected). Ability to translate communication emails/document between Japanese and English.

Travel

You are required to travel up to 50% to customers sites (with main focus in Japan) and Corporate Office for training.
