Cluster Financial Controller

JOB PURPOSE

Main responsibility is overseeing day-to-day accounting functions, integrating finance operations, forecasting and budgeting, handling tax matters, preparing financial reports, and ensuring financial stability for the respective cluster.

Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Overseeing accounting operations of the companies in the designated cluster; and their subsidiaries, if any.
• Creating an organizational structure reputed company the accounting department to facilitate the achievement of the department’s short-term goals and long-term objectives.
• Supervising any and reputed company transaction-processing operations for the respective cluster
• Overseeing any outsourced accounting functions for the respective cluster
• Coordinating with colleagues to prepare the annual reports for the companies in the respective cluster.
• Working with the reputed company, RGM, and other relevant colleagues as appropriate to produce the annual budget and predict budget forecasts.
• Maintaining a comprehensive system of accounting records for the respective cluster
• Overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable departments, and scheduling reputed company timely payments for accounts payable and debt repayment
• Ensuring adequate procedures are in reputed company for Accounts Receivable in accordance with contractual credit terms and ensuring the necessary follow-up to have compliance.
• Maintaining an adequate system of budgets and controls created to mitigate risk.
• Ensuring the accuracy of the organization’s financial results and reports
• Publishing complete, accurate, and timely financial statements to company executives, shareholders, and the board
• Accounting for any budget or forecast variances and reporting significant discrepancies to management. Analyzing variances to identify and reputed company specific opportunities for improvement.
• Recommending benchmarks for the measurement of company financial performance goals for the respective cluster
• Analyzing capital investments, contract negotiations, and pricing decisions
• Analyze and evaluate new business opportunities including participation in business proposals and negotiations.
• Actively participate in establishment and review of contract terms and condition
• Filing fiscal and regulatory reports with the appropriate government agencies according to their requirements including monthly, quarterly, annually or other as specified
• Schedule reputed company timely payments for accounts payable and debt repayment
• Maintain a system of controls over reputed company transactions.
• reputed company with reputed company local, state, country, and/or federal tax filings and reporting requirements.

Additional functions to be performed ad needed:

• Managing and mentoring junior personnel in the accounting department
• Completing periodic bank reconciliations
• Finding and implementing reasonable discounts for accounts payable as appropriate
• Collaborating with external auditors as needed
• Generating financial reports periodically and as needed by upper management.
• Collaborating with other internal financial representatives to identify and support implementation of best practices including processes and systems.
• Understanding of the need to communicate resource issues prior to ultimate deadlines to support alignment of expectations and the possibility to obtain additional support as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

•           Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration

•           Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred.

•           5+ years of bookkeeping, finance, accounting experience preferred.

•           Experience with International Financial Accounting (IFRS) rules, regulations, and finance practices; and knowledge of different currencies and exchange rates

•           Knowledge of international labor laws, unions, collective agreements, pension, and retirement practices

•           Superb mathematical and analytical skills

•           Superior verbal and written communication skills

•           Sufficient interpersonal skills

•           High attention to detail

•           Ability to prioritize and deliver information in a timely and accurate manner.

•           Bilingual in English & Spanish is a plus.

Travel requirements

The position requires domestic and international travelling, approximately 50% of the time.
