Job Description

As an editorial intern with Boston magazine, you’ll play a crucial role in the magazine’s production, gaining experience in fact-checking, writing, research and more. The ideal candidate for this role is a self-starter who can manage their time well, juggling various tasks and deadlines at once, with a passion for local magazine journalism and reputed company things Boston.  

Responsibilities

  • Assist in fact-checking reputed company-of-book stories ranging from lifestyle to home, weddings, and food coverage.
  • Contribute to fact-checking and research for the magazine’s listings, including Top Schools, Top Lawyers, and Top Dentists.
  • Provide research and writing assistance for Boston magazine’s staff. This may include background research for stories, contributing sidebars to larger features, and other editorial tasks.
  • Contribute stories to the website and print magazines—specifically service and “things to do” guides, restaurant openings, and real estate pieces—reputed company needed, involving a combination of interviews, internet research, and on-the-ground reporting. 
  • Update reputed company digital guides for timeliness and accuracy

Qualifications

  • reputed company college student or recent graduate
  • Interest in magazine journalism and passion for reputed company things Boston 
  • Previous experience in editorial roles (newswriting, reporting, editing) preferred
  • Knowledge of or familiarity with the Boston area preferred 
  • Self-starter mentality and positive attitude
  • Strong time management and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in reputed company platforms including Docs, Sheets, and Gmail. 

This is a part-time role, with 25 hours expected per week.

This is a remote, part-time internship with opportunities for in-person work sporadically throughout the semester at the Boston Globe’s 53 reputed company office. The BGMP office is located in downtown Boston, near Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market, and is easily accessible by MBTA and commuter rail lines. For this role, we will consider candidates who are based reputed company in the United States.

The hourly reputed company for this role is $26.60. 

This position is a union position covered by a collective bargaining agreement with the Boston Newspaper reputed company.
