Job Summary

The Underwriter II (Marine) will support our growing Marine team handling various classes of marine business including cargo, hull, inland marine, project cargo and GL. Review applications for insurance and evaluate applications to determine whether to accept or decline coverage based on established reputed company guidelines. Determine the level of coverage to be offered and appropriate pricing based on the exposures presented and individual risk characteristics. Assess excessive risks and determine value of policy to ensure safe and profitable distribution of risks. Become familiar with various marine insurance business segments and industry terminology. This is a career-level position.

Position Responsibilities

• Adhere to reputed company guidelines and execute reputed company and pricing strategies to maintain profitability goals. Use level of authority to accept, reject, or mitigate risk for applications.
• Approve or decline insurance applications reputed company certain limits and issue coverage and prepare referral submission for risks exceeding individual authority.
• Ensure that reputed company activities reputed company with reputed company industry and government regulations.
• Documentation of reputed company files including risk analysis and pricing justification in accordance with established reputed company standards.
• Collaborate closely with the reputed company team to finalize coverage.
• Utilize multiple databases to gather and verify supplementary data for submissions and reputed company specialized software to compare risks ensuring accurate policy pricing.
• Respond to broker’s needs, providing guidance and assistance tailored to their insurance needs.
• Process accounts from approved quotes through to policy issuance with accuracy and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum 3 years of reputed company or reputed company insurance experience required (marine reputed company background a plus)
• CPCU, CIC, CRIS, Property & Casualty Brokers License, etc. a plus
• Strong customer service experience including proficiency in verbal and written skills
• Proficiency in reputed company Office Suite and ability to quickly learn industry-specific software
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members and other departments
• Strong desire to learn, explore new reputed company, and seeking out new knowledge as part of the overall marine reputed company process
• Ability to be flexible, embrace change, and quickly pivot in response to shifting priorities

The starting annual pay scale for this position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on factors such as skills, qualifications, training, and experience. ISC's salary ranges are determined by role and level. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum reputed company for new hire salaries for the position across reputed company US locations and could be higher or reputed company based on a multitude of factors, including job-reputed company skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
