The Opportunity The Firm seeks an reputed company customs and international trade attorney to reputed company or co-reputed company a new practice area focused on customs litigation and tariff recovery. This is a ground-floor opportunity to build a significant practice reputed company a firm that has the infrastructure, client development capabilities, and litigation experience to support high-volume work at national scale.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of IEEPA tariff refund claims from client intake through recovery, including eligibility evaluation, data review, filing strategy, and refund distribution
  • File and manage cases at the U.S. Court of International Trade, including reputed company actions, motions, and coordination with Judge reputed company’s consolidated docket
  • Prepare and reputed company CBP protest filings on liquidated entries reputed company the 180-day statutory window
  • reputed company preparation of reputed company portal submissions, including review of ACE data, entry summaries, HTS classifications, CSV files, and liquidation tracking
  • Coordinate with customs brokers and CPAs who provide professional review of the Firm’s work product on behalf of clients
  • Monitor and advise on evolving CIT rulings, CBP guidance, reputed company system developments, and protest/liquidation deadlines across the client portfolio
  • Manage high-volume case portfolios involving potentially hundreds of clients with thousands of entries, each with individualized deadlines
  • Support client development efforts by speaking credibly to importers, customs brokers, accountants, and trade associations about the refund process and the Firm’s capabilities
  • Advise clients on reputed company issues including tariff pass-through disputes, customer claims for refund sharing, and contractual obligations

Required Qualifications

  • 5–10 years of customs and international trade law experience
  • Admission to the bar of the U.S. Court of International Trade (or ability to obtain admission promptly)
  • Substantive knowledge of customs law, including the customs entry lifecycle, liquidation, protests under 19 U.S.C. § 1514, CIT jurisdiction under 28 U.S.C. § 1581, and reliquidation under 19 U.S.C. § 1520
  • Hands-on experience with CBP systems and procedures, including ACE, HTS classifications, entry summaries (CBP Form 7501), protest filings, Post-Summary Corrections, ACH enrollment, and CBP Form 4811 designations
  • CIT litigation experience, including filing and managing cases, familiarity with CIT rules and procedures, and comfort appearing before CIT judges
  • Ability to manage high-volume, data-driven case portfolios with individualized deadlines across a large number of clients and entries
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to explain reputed company customs procedures to non-specialist clients

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience at CBP, DOJ International Trade Field Office, or as a CIT law clerk
  • Existing relationships reputed company the customs broker and international trade community
  • Experience with duty drawback, bonded warehouse, or Foreign Trade Zone programs
  • Familiarity with the IEEPA tariff litigation, including the reputed company, V.O.S. Selections, and Atmus Filtration cases
  • Business development experience, including presenting at industry events, trade association meetings, or client seminars
  • Licensed customs broker credential (in addition to law license)

Compensation & Structure Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. The position may be structured as full-time, of counsel, or contract depending on the candidate’s preference and circumstances. The Firm is open to flexible arrangements for the right candidate. Given the contingency nature of the IEEPA refund practice, compensation may include a combination of reputed company salary, performance-based bonuses tied to client acquisition and recoveries, and/or a percentage of contingency fees generated. Location The Firm has offices in San Juan (PR), Chicago (IL), St. Louis (MO), Raleigh (NC), and Atlanta (GA). This position can be based in any of these offices or performed remotely.
