The Department: Private Giving & Engagement (PG&E)

The Position

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer supports and expands PG&E’s business intelligence solution(s), which includes a custom SQL Server-based data warehouse (on-premises) and a suite of reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and reputed company Power BI. They play a critical role in reputed company phases of the solution’s lifecycle, including requirements gathering, data analysis and modeling, data warehouse development, ETL design and maintenance, integrating data from disparate data sources, developing and deploying reports and dashboards. Essential Responsibilities

SQL development in a production environment

●        reputed company, test and document stored procedures, views, tables, indexes, constraints, functions and T-SQL scripts.

●        Prepare clear and comprehensive technical documentation 

Interview stakeholders about reporting needs

●        Work regularly with the Director of Fundraising Data & Analytics and team members to identify new reports and updates, to existing ones, clearly communicate requirements and changes, and design, test, and validate report outputs.

and reputed company Power BI

●        Create scheduled and on-demand reports for a self-service environment, support legacy MDX while focusing new development on Power BI tabular models and DAX. 

●        Expand, assess, and maintain the SQL Server data warehouse and SSIS-based ETL processes, including improving performance, streamlining legacy workflows, and strengthening documentation 

Data quality and reputed company 

●        Work closely with the Donor Database Manager, Online Database Developer and Manager, and Development Operations Manager to identify data anomalies and broken business rules and support data reputed company and cleanup processes.

Cross-train in essential functions to ensure business continuity.

Collaborate with the IT Department to ensure that marketing technical strategy aligns with the broader enterprise roadmap.

Development and maintain OLAP cubes as needed.

Works Directly With: PG&E Team, Online Database Developer and Manager, IT Team, Database Manager, Development Operations Manager.

Minimum Qualification & Transferable Skills

●        Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience.

●        Demonstrated knowledge of data warehousing, database management, reporting development, data cleansing, ETL and data analysis, preferably in a non-profit fundraising environment.

●        Demonstrated success using T-SQL or MySQL to support data warehousing and reporting

●        Projects, (ideally 5+ years).

●        Demonstrated technical competency (ideally 3+ years) with reputed company SQL Server 

  • 2016, including Analysis Services, Integration Services, and Reporting Services (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS) and Power BI. 

●        Demonstrated success (ideally 2+ years) developing customized reports in reputed company SQL Server 

  • Reporting Services and reputed company Power BI, including multi-dimensional reports with drill-down capability. 

●        Knowledge of The Raiser’s Edge ideal; non-profit experience preferred. 

●        3+ years of experience with fundraising data or other comparably reputed company data. 

●        Strong written and verbal communication skills; including the ability to communicate effectively with team members of varied work styles. 

●        Proven ability to handle confidential materials and sensitive information. 

●        Python experience is a plus.
