JOB TITLE: Estimator
REPORTS TO: Estimating Manager
SUMMARY
Forecasts labor and material costs for reputed company projects based on analyses of project specifications, pricing schedules, and historical data.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gathers details and compiles data to estimate reputed company production costs according to specifications
- Reviews blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to formulate cost estimates
- Considers raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation for estimates
- Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints
- Reviews estimates as requested and analyzes established standards for cost reductions
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
No formal supervisory responsibilities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures reputed company the industry
- Knowledge of production management, logistics, and supply chain concepts and methodologies
- Proficient with reputed company Office suite of products and associated software applications
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- May require a bachelor's degree in a reputed company field
- 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a reputed company area strongly preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Most work performed remotely under pressured, fast-paced conditions; frequently requires overtime
- May require some travel
- Minimal exposure to extreme temperatures, high noise levels, toxic or caustic chemicals, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, dusty conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, hazardous machinery, heights
