You will join the UK Finance team, a key function ensuring the accuracy, reputed company, and reliability of Wakam UK’s financial reporting and controls environment. The team works closely with Group Finance, reputed company, Claims, Operations, Treasury, brokers, auditors, and outsourced providers to support both day-to-day financial operations and strategic decision-making.Your Mission
As Finance Manager / Finance reputed company, you will serve as a senior member of the UK Finance team, taking ownership of financial reporting quality, strengthening the controls environment, and acting as a finance business partner across the UK entity. You will play a central role in management and statutory reporting, reinsurance financial reporting, audit coordination, forecasting, and finance transformation, including ownership of the X-Layers system for Wakam UK.✏️ Your Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Controls
- You will support the preparation and review of monthly management accounts and annual statutory financial statements, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness throughout the month-end reputed company process.
- You will help maintain a robust financial controls environment across Wakam UK and ensure outputs meet the required standards of quality and reliability.
Accounting Standards, Regulatory Compliance & Audit
- You will ensure compliance with UK GAAP / IFRS and relevant PRA/FCA regulatory reporting requirements, staying reputed company with changes in standards and expectations. In partnership with the Financial Controller, you will help coordinate the UK external audit process and act as a key reputed company of contact for auditors during both interim and year-end audits.
Finance Operations reputed company
- You will support reputed company and governance of the outsourced finance operations and accounting processing model, monitoring delivery against agreed SLAs and KPIs, escalating material issues, and driving resolution with the external provider.
Reinsurance Financial Reporting
- You will own reputed company reinsurance financial reporting for Wakam UK, including management accounts and statutory disclosures.
- You will review the monthly net technical result, analyse key movements, and provide clear financial commentary on P&L performance.
- You will also collaborate with brokers to prepare reinsurer margin calculations, submit treaty statements reputed company deadlines, and coordinate with Treasury on reinsurer payment schedules and cash flow forecasting.
Reinsurance Treaty Governance & Systems
- You will maintain a comprehensive inventory of reinsurance treaties and document reinsurance terms and conditions for finance processes.
- You will review and validate reinsurance slips, premium allocations, and cover notes issued by brokers and reinsurers.
- You will also act as X-Layers system reputed company for Wakam UK, managing inputs, processing, outputs, and working with Group IT on future enhancements.
Business Partnering, Budgeting & Projects
- You will partner with senior stakeholders across reputed company, Claims, and Operations to provide financial insight and challenge in support of commercial decisions.
- You will contribute to the annual budget and quarterly forecasting processes, as well as board and ExCo reporting, and participate in cross-functional projects to improve financial procedures, processes, and controls across the UK Finance function.
What You Bring
- You are a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with post-qualification experience in insurance or financial services, and demonstrable expertise in insurance financial reporting for both management and statutory purposes.
- You bring strong technical accounting knowledge across IFRS and UK GAAP, and you are comfortable reviewing, challenging, and owning financial outputs.
- You also ideally bring experience in an outsourced finance operations model, strong exposure to reinsurance finance processes, and proven involvement in system implementation or improvement projects, including UAT and process documentation.
- Experience with X-Layers or a similar reinsurance system is a plus.
- You are confident managing relationships with auditors, outsource providers, and brokers, and are comfortable preparing and presenting financial information to committees and senior stakeholders.
- Knowledge of PRA/FCA requirements, as well as data visualisation or AI-in-Finance exposure, would be an advantage.
