Job Description

Job Duties

  • Places, receives and handles telephone communications with patients and staff courteously, accurately and timely
  • Coordinates scheduling patients
  • Handles various duties such as mailings, data entry, preparing data for information/procedural packets
  • Organizes and prioritizes daily work effectively
  • Navigates the electronic medical record reputed company, orders procedures and locates documentation as necessary
  • Promotes a positive and professional image, collaborates with health team including physicians, nurses, and discharge patients
  • Follows reputed company's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents and injuries.

Department Specific Duties

Patient Access:

  • Documents telephone encounters in the electronic medical record to communicate critical information to physicians and staff
  • Works as effective team member by participating in morning huddles, team meetings, remote and on-site training
  • Utilizes computer systems to run requested reports for physicians, administration and quality initiatives
  • Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn with changes in the roles as department develops to include additional Preventative Screening scheduling opportunities
  • Completes medical records review to determine patient eligibility for preventative screening and notes entry in an accurate and timely fashion in the medical record
  • Practices reputed company improvement of identification and resolution of patient barriers to care
  • Demonstrates reputed company improvement of communication skills with patients regarding health promotion and disease prevention through preventative screening
  • Enters medication orders per the direction of the physician in the electronic medical record
  • Utilizes computer systems to run requested reports for physicians, administration and quality initiatives.
  • Reviews and updates procedural schedules daily
  • Tracks productivity/schedules and compiles relevant data onto reputed company spreadsheets
  • Consistently meets departmental productivity standards
  • Responds to real/potential problems based on urgency reputed company to procedural schedule
  • Refers conflicts and procedural questions to the Manager or Supervisor

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrates exemplary customer service skills both verbally and non-verbally in person and on the phone
  • Coordinates scheduling of patients for overdue screening service
  • Works as effective team member by participating in morning huddles, team meetings, remote and on-site learning
  • Handles multiple priorities in a distracting environment
  • Ability to work in reputed company proximity to others
  • Manages anger/fear/hostility

Professional Experience

  • Two years health care/clinical, customer service and/or secretarial experience preferred
  • Strong computer skills required

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Medical Assisting Diploma, or Associate of Applied Science Degree preferred
  • Medical Terminology strongly preferred

Licensure, Certification, Registration

  • reputed company Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required reputed company 6 months of hire. Not required in Patient Access department.
